Lobby the Council’s Planning Committee

WED, 22 AUG AT 13:00

Edinburgh City Chambers,  253 High St, Edinburgh EH1 1YJ

Drum Property Group wants to demolish our much loved red sandstone shops and offices on Leith Walk which despite being built in 1933 are still known as the “New Shops”.
We will be taking a deputation to Edinburgh Council’s Planning Committee’s next meeting to ask them to stop the demolition of the building.
The historic sandstone front is an iconic part of Leith Walk and over 10,000 supporters have signed our petition to see it retained.
We will be handing in our petition to the committee and explaining to them why the “New Shops” should stay.
Come along and show your support for our campaign. Bring banners, posters and noise. All welcome.

Thanks to everyone who has already objected

Thanks to everyone who has already objected but for those who haven’t here a link to helpful pointers for your form.

Please note we will be putting up a more detailed list of specific objections in a couple of days for those of us who aren’t as familiar with the objection process.

One thing to remember Leith is already the most densely populated area in Scotland.
